@sambencheghib on November 26th, 2019 | Great moments today with Colorado Governor Jared Polis @govofco.

One of the best parts of this run has been the journey into the political sphere of the plastic industry in this country. There’s so much that can be done and I hope that by running and meeting politicians face-to-face, every step I take becomes a step closer to a United States without plastic pollution.

@sambencheghib on November 27th, 2019 | My biggest motivator on this run has been meeting and talking to kids, seeing a sparkle in their eye, and seeing their energy and willingness to create action. You’re never too young or too old to have an impact and make a difference and I see so much hope and potential by targeting the youth.

So far, I’ve had the privilege of speaking at 23 schools along my run and no matter where it is, on the coast or in landlocked states, the kids notice the importance of acting now to fight against the plastic pollution problem. Many times, I’m the first person to tell them about it, but they quickly realize that there are rivers everywhere and that rivers connect us to our ocean.

@sambencheghib on December 1st, 2019 | Day 128: Finally getting out of these plains and into the Rockies!
The hardest is yet to come and there’s still a very long way to go, but seeing these mountains today was a very special moment. I’ve been telling myself that once I make it over these bad boys, it’s all downhill from there.
Colorado Springs tomorrow!
