Do you feel like you want to help the environment but don't know how? Do you feel like you want to live a more sustainable life? Do you want to be a part of a movement?
Well thankfully there's so many things you can do. It doesn't matter how old you are, where you come from or what background you have. There is always going to be something you can do to help our planet from getting out-of-hand.
Whether it's cleaning the beach for 5 minutes, educating children about the effects of plastic pollution, building instruments from renewable materials or creating art that promotes sustainability, there's always going to be something out there you can do to help.
Here is a list of 5 people who have decided to take action and that you should look at for inspiration:
1) Carolina Sevilla: an artist and environmentalist living in a tree house in Costa Rica. She completely shifted her life to recover ocean plastics into fashion and founded 5minutebeachcleanup to inspire people to clean up.
2) Rizal: an Indonesian bamboo instrument builder and musician. Rizal builds his own musicians out of bamboo and recycled materials. He hosts workshops on how to build your own instrument and sells his instruments to the public. Rizal believes that we only have one planet, so why not protect it and love it.
4) Thea Frommenwiler: exposed a giant plastic water-bottle in the most remote waters of the archipelago of Indonesia as a cry for help. She built her giant bottle with hopes to inspire people to stop using plastic bottles.
5) Abhishek: an eight-year-old primary school student who goes to school everyday as "Mr. Eco." In second grade he convinced his entire school to start recycling. Abhishek says "it doesn't matter how old you are."
